GENERAL HEALTH CHECKS

General Health Checks are an important part of caring for your companion animal throughout their life. During the consultation our experienced veterinarians will thoroughly examine your pet and discuss any queries you may have about their health or behaviour. These health checks allow early recognition and early intervention of often subtle health problems that are not necessarily obvious to owners. We recommend annual health checks along with vaccinations as the best way of ensuring your pet lives as healthy and happy a life as possible. These wellness examinations allow our vets to detect weight changes, dental disease, heart conditions and address any other concerns such as lumps, bumps or painful areas. Additional diagnostic procedures, such as blood and urine tests, x-rays or ultrasound examination, will be scheduled if required.

MEDICINE

From annual health checks to diabetes to oncology, we are adept at managing simple to complex medical cases.

SURGERY

The Croydon Veterinary Clinic offers a wide range of surgical services from minor procedures, routine desexing to complex exploratory surgeries of the chest and abdomen, orthopaedic and emergency surgeries. We use modern, safe anaesthetics and pain relief and closely monitor your pet throughout all surgical procedures to ensure the best recovery possible.

PATHOLOGY

The Croydon Veterinary Clinic uses a range of pathology services to complement diagnosis and manage treatment of our patients. In house we regularly test urine, fine needle biopsies, ear and skin samples as part of best care for our clients. If more detailed testing is required samples are sent away to an external laboratory.

DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING

Our hospital is equipped with advanced ultrasound and state-of-the-art digital x-ray equipment. We use this technology to help provide high quality images of things like bone & tissue in the diagnostic process. This means we don't always need to rush into surgeries to hopefully find out what is going on.

Depending on what area of your pet needs to be X-rayed, they may require sedation. Our very experienced vets can go through this process with you.

ENDOSCOPY

We use endoscopy to allow visualisation of the respiratory and gastrointestinal tract and as a means to take biopsies as needed without the need for major surgery. This results in less stress and reduced recovery time for your pet.

NUTRITION ADVICE

Good nutrition is one of the easiest ways we can influence the health of our pets. Our experienced and qualified staff are ready to help you with any advice you may need. We also offer free weight clinics to help your pet achieve their ideal weight. Please call the clinic to make an appointment if you would like a free weight clinic for your pet.

DENTISTRY

Dental disease is one of the most common diseases in cats and dogs. Not only is dental disease painful for your pet, but the increased bacteria in their mouth can be associated with other conditions such as kidney disease, heart disease, and liver disease.

From a thorough clean and polish to tooth extractions, we are well equipped to take care of your pet’s dental health. We also offer FREE nurse dental checks, this helps to keep on top of your pets dental program and hopefully prevent any invasive treatments.

MICROCHIPPING

If your pet is lost, they aren't able to phone home themselves. We want to ensure all pets are microchipped. We also recommend you have an ID tag attached to your pet’s collar, as this can speed up the lost and found process.

A microchip is a permanent form of identification for animals. We can microchip your pet during a routine consultation; the microchip implant is about the size of a grain of rice and is inserted under the skin. Most municipal councils require all pets to be microchipped.

COMPLIMENTARY NEW PUPPY AND KITTEN CHECKS

When your new family member arrives we offer a free health check to ensure they get the best start possible in their new home. Please call the clinic to make an appointment.
